IF is NOT about restricting calories. IF is NOT a diet (you can eat any diet and IF). IF is about controlling insulin production and reducing insulin resistance so you can lower your weight set point. Longer fasts have many more benefits (that have nothing to do with calorie restriction) to improve/reset the body’s immune system. So, if you IF as a way to restrict calorie intake, you’re completely missing the point of IF. Maybe go watch a few YouTube videos from Dr. Jason Fung will help you understand better what IF is about.
